March 27, 2014 Here we are closing in on April and there’s still plenty of snow out there but unfortunately we are done grooming for the season. We have some repairs to do to our groomers and we may actually be looking to replace one of them do to the fact that the costs and repairs of the aging equipment has been hurting us for too many seasons.
We have some really great people willing to be out there but when the equipment keeps failing, it hurts the club in far too many ways.
We always say/hope that next year will be better. Newer more reliable equipment should help that. More help with maintaining the trails would definitely help. Please think about the great season you just had and do what you can to support those who make it all possible.
March 5, 2014 – We are down to only 2 groomers. The track is gone on the LMC and will have to be replaced. The current groomers are meeting in the middle, so to speak. They are doing their usual routes and trying to take up the slack for the incapacitated groomer. We are currently planning on repairing it. Please bear with us. Today we received just a dusting of snow. Beware of possible icy spots. We will keep you posted on repair progress.
3:00 PM February 25, 2014 – the groomer has been removed from the trail on ITS 80 – it’s in the garage. Hopefully it can be repaired and back out for everyone’s riding pleasure. Please be patient.
February 25, 2014 CAUTION! CAUTION!!
The LMC Groomer is sitting in the trail on ITS 80 just North of the Stow Meadows – that would be into the woods going north after you see the signs for The Stow Corner Stow. It lost the track – club members will try to remove it today.

Seems strange to say but – the groomers have been out trying to take care of ALL THIS SNOW! Yay! We have had trouble with the fuel system on the groomer in North Fryeburg. So it’s not for lack of trying, but the fields and ITS 80 haven’t been as good as the groomers would like. Our apologies, we hope to get all fixed up soon. We have had about 18 inches of new snow in the last week. Hopefully, there won’t be rain in Friday’s forecast as they hinted this morning. Enjoy!
February 6th 2014 We got about 9 inches of new snow!
January 30th The Groomers have been out!!
January 28, 2014
The groomers have ventured out – preparing for the rally on Sunday. We have received about 3 or 4 inches of new snow but heavy winds have moved it around ALOT. Be careful out there.
Well, the January thaw has produced heavy rains and above freezing temperatures which once again has caused severe flooding with many trails totally unpassable.
As of today, trails in the Fryeburg area are closed till we can clear them off ice chunks and other flood related debris. Once the water recedes we will get out there and start opening them back up and verify that they are safe to ride.
As always, it will take a lot of time and work to clear all the affected areas and we could really use some help and understanding considering what we have to deal with, again. If you can help please contact Paul Gallant @ 207-935-2878 or on his cell 603-986-4365.
January 6, 2014 Rain – 35 degrees
The trail through Indian Acres is still closed. We did not have the needed equipment to get the job done. Equipment belonging to our trailmaster was damaged while doing trail work and is being repaired. It all takes time. There is a new trail for the Fryeburg Academy kids/staff and it is strictly just a “dead end” trail. It goes from just across the Academy, down into the fields and out to the main trail. Please respect all the landowners who made this possible. Freezing rain today will totally change conditions out there on the trails. There will lots of low hangings limbs/trees down across the trails. Please ride slow and use caution till we get it all cleared up. P.S. we could always use some help doing that. Any volunteers?
January 5 2014
Due to extreme cold weather Friday night and Saturday morning – the groomer in N Fryeburg had mechanical problems. We were unable to groom ITS 80 north Saturday night as planned. We hope to be back up and running as soon as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience to anyone’s plans.
January 2, 2014
SNOW! We had about 12 inches of snow over the Christmas Holiday. We are expecting about 6 – 8 inches of new snow.
Our groomers have been out. Trails were groomed New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Please use caution on any bodies of water. We have had sub zero temps and tonight is suppose to be windy so visibility will be diminished.
